Assessment of State Implementation of Business Reforms

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry released a report assessing implementation of business reforms by the States. It delves into the different areas in which States have made inroads, promoting ease of doing business, and determines strengths each State imbibes as a result. Karnataka, for instance, due to its comprehensive automation and process reengineering efforts, received the highest score in the ‘Registering and Complying with Tax Procedures’ metric.
