Calcutta High Court: Unemployment Does Not Excuse Able-Bodied Husband from Maintaining His Wife - 17.09.2025

Calcutta High Court held that an able-bodied husband cannot refuse to maintain his wife due to unemployment. Justice Mukherjee stated that since the husband is capable of earning he cannot deny his legal duty to maintain his wife regardless of her earning or being thrown out of the matrimonial home.
