Cal. HC: Filing False Case u/s 498A IPC Amounts to Cruelty - 03.01.2024

Calcutta High Court while allowing the husband’s petition for grant of divorce, has held that the wife lodging a false criminal case under Section 498A/406 of the IPC is one of the elements of cruelty and, therefore, the Court cannot ignore the same while considering the appeal on merit.
