Karnataka HC Removes Petitioner in PIL Against 'Cauvery Calling' Project - 16.10.2020

Karnataka High Court has observed that the conduct of petitioner A V Amarnathan was not that of a pro-bono litigant and accordingly it converted the public interest litigation filed by him seeking directions to Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev's Isha foundation, to not collect funds from the public forvery Calling project, into a suo-motu petition.

Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bail to a man accused of outraging the modesty of a woman who worked in his office as an Assistant. The Court has held that though the offence would definitely fall under the offence of sexual harassment (Section 354A), it is slightly doubtful as to whether it would fall under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
