Original jurisdiction of District Judge in suits - Section 25

Except as otherwise provided by any enactment for the time being in force, the court of the District Judge shall have jurisdiction 1[in every original civil suit the value of which does not exceed 3[rupees two crore.]

1. Substituted for the words "in original civil suits without limit as regards the value" by Act No. 26 of 1966, Schedule and amended by Act No. 60 of 1991

2. Substituted for "rupees five lakhs by Central Act No. 35 of 2003 (w.e.f. 16.7.2003).

3. Substituted by the Delhi High Court (Amendment) Act, 2015 for the following:-

"2[rupees twenty lakhs.]"
