Supreme Court Refuses to Restore Justice Karnan's Judicial Power, Gives him Another Month - 03.04.2017

In a first in Indian judicial history, sitting High Court judge C Karnan appeared before a seven member bench of the Supreme Court to answer charges of contempt levelled against him. Justice Karnan offered to give an “unconditional” apology provided his judicial work was restored. However the Supreme Court refused this offer and gave the judge another four weeks to file a reply in the contempt notice.
