Supreme Court Negates Idea of Mandatory Aadhaar For Welfare Schemes - 27.03.2017

Supreme Court has said that Aadhaar cannot be mandatory for central welfare schemes, but added that it cannot stop Government from linking 12-digit identification number to opening of bank accounts or filing of tax returns.
