SC Issue Notices to RBI and HDFC Bank on Regulator’s Power to Enforce Merger Scheme - 01.09.2015

Supreme Court has issued notice to RBI, HDFC Bank and others on plea seeking clarity on RBI’s powers to enforce merger scheme of banks, which was approved by it earlier. Issue basically relates to merger of HDFC Bank and Centurion Bank of Punjab, which got RBI nod on May 20, 2008.
