Government’s startup initiatives inviting much interest

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry revealed that 728 applications have been received thus far by the Ministry through the Startup India portal.

The portal is the gateway for startups to complete the requirements for recognition of their nascent status and eligibility under various government schemes.

Aside from a ‘fund of funds’ to invest in startups, the government is offering tax incentives, self-certification to reduce red tape and benefits in filing intellectual property applications, among other relaxations.
