Supreme Court: High Courts Must Independently Assess SC/ST Act Charges in Section 14A Appeals - 12.02.2026

Supreme Court has criticized the Madhya Pradesh High Court for allowing criminal proceedings under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act to continue despite the absence of essential ingredients of the offence, including any allegation of intentional caste-based insult or intimidation.
