Calcutta HC: Land Acquisition For Industrial Park is Public Purpose; Leasing to Industry is Valid - 11.02.2026

Calcutta HC held that land acquired for “employment generation and socio-economic development” for an industrial park constitutes a valid public purpose under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, and cannot be challenged as private acquisition merely because it is later leased to an industrial unit.
