SC: Merely Leasing an Apartment Does Not Bar a Flat Buyer’s Consumer Complaint Against the Builder - 05.02.2026

Supreme Court observed that merely leasing or renting a residential flat does not exclude the owner from the definition of “consumer” under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, unless it is shown that the dominant intention at the time of purchase was commercial in nature.
