Chhattisgarh HC: Second Marriage During Subsisting First Marriage Void Unless Custom Permits It - 14.01.2026

Chhattisgarh High Court held that a second marriage solemnised during the subsistence of a first marriage is void under Sections 5(i) and 11 of the Hindu Marriage Act, unless the party concerned proves the existence of a valid custom permitting such remarriage.
