SC: Complaints Alleging Fraud under Companies Act Can Be Filed Only By SFIO, Not By Private Parties - 12.01.2026

SC held that allegations of fraud under Companies Act, 2013 cannot be pursued through private complaints, as a Special Court may take cognizance only on a complaint filed by the Director of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office or an officer authorised by Central Government u/s 212(6) of the Act.
