SC: Courts Cannot Take Cognizance of Time-Barred Cheque Bounce Cases Without Condoning Delay - 07.01.2026

Supreme Court held that courts cannot take cognizance of a belated cheque dishonour complaint unless the delay is first condoned, and accordingly set aside the Karnataka High Court’s ruling that had upheld cognizance without formally condoning the delay.
