SC: Governors and President Have No Fixed Timeline To Assent To Bills; “Deemed Assent” is Invalid - 20.11.2025

Answering a Presidential reference, the Supreme Court held that it cannot set timelines for the President or Governors to assent to bills under Articles 200/201, and that “deemed assent” is unconstitutional, as it violates the separation of powers and encroaches on the Governor’s functions.
