Bombay HC: Judicial Remand Extension Beyond 60 Days Without Hearing, Reasons is Illegal - 13.10.2025

Bombay High Court ruled that extending judicial remand beyond 60 days under Section 187(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, without giving the accused a chance to be heard and without a reasoned order, violates Article 21 of the Constitution and is contrary to law.
