Madras HC Rejects CBI Probe Pleas in Karur Stampede; Govt Bans Political Meets - 03.10.2025

Madras High Court (Madurai bench) rejected pleas for a CBI probe into the Karur stampede that claimed 39 lives. The State government also informed the court that no permission will be granted for political meetings until SOPs for public gatherings are established.
