SC: Complaint under Section 138 NI Act Not Maintainable if Demand Notice Lacks Exact Amount - 22.09.2025

Supreme Court reiterated that a complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act must have a demand notice specifying the exact cheque amount. If the amount in the notice differs from the cheque amount, the complaint will not be maintainable and can be dismissed on this ground.
