Madras HC: Jamath Denying NOC for Nikah to Eligible Muslim Woman Violates Her Right to Life - 22.09.2025

Madras High Court ruled that the jurisdictional Jamath must issue a No-Objection Certificate for Nikah if the applicant is eligible. Justice Swaminathan stated that refusing the NOC violates the applicant’s fundamental right under Article 21, as the Jamath has a duty to issue it unless disqualified.
