Supreme Court Lays Down Principles Governing Joint Trials in Criminal Cases under CrPC and BNSS - 17.09.2025

Supreme Court held that under Section 223 CrPC (now Section 243 BNSS), joint trials are allowed when multiple accused face charges from the same transaction. Separate trials are only required if the acts attributed to each accused are distinct and can be clearly separated from one another.
