Kerala HC: Cognizance Of Rape u/s 376B IPC Needs Complaint by Separated Wife, Not on Police Report - 17.09.2025

Kerala High Court quashed criminal proceedings against a man accused under Section 376B IPC, stating that as per Section 198B of the CrPC, courts can take cognizance of such offences only upon a complaint filed by the separated wife, and not based on a police report or any other method.
