Kerala High Court: High Courts Can Use Inherent Power to Allow Convicts to Withdraw Criminal Appeals - 16.09.2025

Kerala High Court allowed the withdrawal of two criminal appeals filed by convicts under Section 528 of BNSS, exercising its inherent power. Justice Gopinath P. clarified that only High Courts, not subordinate courts, have the authority to permit such withdrawal of appeals.
