Orissa HC Strikes Down 'Onerous' Kin-Surety Bail Condition, Upholds Right to Liberty - 09.09.2025

Orissa HC waived a bail condition requiring one surety to be a relative, deeming it ‘onerous’ and against bail’s purpose. Justice Satapathy held that such impossible conditions defeat legislative intent and should not be imposed.
