SC: Landowner's Preferential Right Must Be Extinguished Before Acquisition - 26.08.2025

Supreme Court has held that under Maharashtra Slum Areas Act, 1971 land cannot be acquired until the owner’s preferential right to submit a Slum Rehabilitation (SR) Scheme is extinguished.
