SC Resolves Overlap between 'Design' and 'Copyright' Protection u/s 15(2) of the Copyright Act - 16.04.2025

Supreme Court has resolved the overlap between 'design' and 'copyright' protection u/s 15(2) of the Copyright Act, 1957 by laying down twin tests that shall consider whether the work in question is purely an 'artistic work' or a ‘design’ derived from such original artistic work.
