SC to Decide if Term 'Regulate' in Electricity Act Covers Trade Regulation in Electricity Industry - 08.04.2025

Supreme Court is set to decide whether the word "regulate" under Section 79(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 is limited to framing of regulations or subordinate legislation, or can it extend to regulation of trade in the electricity industry.
