SC: Accused to be Sentenced with Higher Punishment if Convicted under both POCSO Act & IPC - 11.03.2025

SC has clarified that when a particular act or omission constitutes an offence, both under the POCSO Act, 2012 and IPC, 1860 the offender found guilty of the offence would be liable to punishment under the POCSO Act, 2012 or under IPC whichever provides a punishment of a greater degree.
