SC: States to Consider Release of Eligible Convicts Even in Absence of Application - 19.02.2025

SC has observed that when State/UT has adopted a policy for the grant of permanent remission, it becomes their obligation to consider cases of all eligible convicts for the grant of permanent remission even if the Convict does not submit an application for such remission.
