Supreme Court: Can Compromise Grievous Hurt Offence in Exceptional Circumstances - 08.01.2025

SC has held that while the offence of grievous hurt under Section 326 of IPC is non-compoundable under CrPC, 1973, the exceptional circumstances of a case including the voluntary settlement between the parties warrant the exercise of the Court's inherent powers to give effect to the compromise.
