Supreme Court: Private Parties are Free to Change their Party Loyalties - 23.09.2024

SC has held that private citizens are free to change their party loyalties, there is no bar on a private citizen professing loyalty to any political party. 52nd Constitutional Amendment laying down anti-defection laws deal with a particular evil which was defections within house of legislatures.
