SC: Bail Not to Be Denied on Ground That Trial Is Expedited - 03.09.2024

SC while issuing notice in a Special Leave Petition filed by a dacoity-accused challenging the decision of Calcutta High Court rejecting his bail plea and directing the authorities to expedite the trial has observed that bail cannot be rejected merely on the ground that the trial will be expedited.
