SC: Bail is the Rule and Jail is the Exception Even in PMLA Cases - 28.08.2024

SC has held that S. 45 of PMLA, 2002 doesn’t rewrite principle ‘bail is the rule, jail is the exception’ to mean that deprivation is the norm and liberty is the exception. All that is required is that in cases where bail is subject to satisfaction of conditions, those conditions must be satisfied.
