Supreme Court: Performance Audit of Maharashtra Slum Areas Act, Directed - 01.08.2024

SC while suggesting audit of Maharashtra Slum Areas Act, 1971 has stated that reviewing and assessing implementation of statute is an integral part of Rule of Law. It is in recognition of this obligation that constitutional courts have directed governments to carry performance audit of statutes.
