SC: Drugs (Price Control) Order, 1995 Cannot be Subjected to Restricted or Hidebound Interpretation - 19.07.2024

SC held that intent of Drugs (Price Control) Order is to control prices at which medicinal drug formulations are made available, by holding out threat of recovery of higher prices charged for such formulations. Considering the objective of the provision, it cannot be interpreted in restriction.
