SC: Can’t Charge Friends/Relative for Offence of Bigamy by Mere Presence in Second Marriage - 17.05.2024

SC has observed that perusal of the penal provision would indicate that order framing charge against friends/relatives for bigamy is erroneous because no person other than spouse to second marriage could have been charged for the offence punishable under Section 494 Indian Penal Code, 1860.
