SC: Appropriate Rites and Ceremonies Need to be Performed to Make a Hindu Marriage Valid - 01.05.2024

SC has observed that where a Hindu marriage is not performed according to applicable rites/ceremonies such as saptapadi when included, the marriage will not be construed as Hindu marriage. In other words, for a valid marriage under Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, requisite ceremonies have to be performed.
