Cal. HC: Modern Penology Aims at Reforming Prisoners Rather Than Wreaking Vengeance - 10.04.2024

Cal. HC while allowing the premature release of a convict in Bowbazar Blasts, has stated that primary object in modern penology is reformation and correction and objective of punishment is to reform convict, assisting him in reintegration and not to wreak vengeance on him due to his past conduct.
