Supreme Court: Accused Absolved of Charges Under IPC Can’t Be Charged Under UP Gangsters Act - 20.02.2024

SC has held that to prosecute accused under Section 3(1) of Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities(Prevention) Act, 1986 it should be proved by prosecution that accused being a member of a gang has been involved in anti-social activities that are covered under Indian Penal Code (IPC).
