Supreme Court: District-Level Committee’s Scope Expanded - 19.02.2024

Supreme Court has expanded the scope of district-level committees that are to be constituted by the States or Union Territories to reduce the issue related to overcrowding of prisons in India. The committee is now also required to address the aspect particularly related to female inmate.
