SC: Giving Police Liberty to Seek Remand While Granting Anticipatory Bail Defeats Objective of Bail - 30.01.2024

SC while expressing surprise at practice followed by Courts in Gujarat of giving police liberty to seek remand of accused even while granting anticipatory bail has remarked that such a practice would defeat the objective of granting anticipatory bail, nullifying the guarantee of personal liberty.
