SC: Demand of Ransom Coupled with the Threat to Life Necessary for Conviction Under Section 364A IPC - 04.01.2024

Supreme Court has held that for conviction under Section 364A of IPC, the prosecution must prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, before the Court not only the act of kidnapping or abduction but also the demand of ransom, coupled with the threat to the life of a person who has been kidnapped or abducted.
