Special Court provisions in Companies Act now in force

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs notified 18 May 2016 as the date on which Sections 2(29)(iv), 435 to 438 and 440 of the Companies Act 2013 came into force.

The provisions relate to the operation of Special Courts which will hear matters pertaining to offences committed under the Companies Act.

The government also appointed several existing courts in Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Gujarat and other states as Special Courts under the Companies Act.
