Del. HC: Amount of Penalty Imposed on PIOs’ May Vary Depending on Malice - 06.11.2023

Delhi High Court has held that Section 20 of RTI Act, 2005 only specifies the maximum limit (Rs.250 per day) of the penalty and not the minimum limit, to be imposed on Public Information Officer (PIO) for delay in reply, and the said amount may vary depending on malice and degree of inaction.
