SC to Centre and States: Fill Vacancies in Information Commissions - 31.10.2023

Supreme Court while directing Central and State Governments to fill the vacancies in the Information Commissions, has observed that failure to do so defeats the purpose of the RTI Act and affects the right of information which becomes a ‘dead letter’ if vacancies are not filled up.
