SC Allows Surrogacy With Donor Egg Despite Statutory Provision Against it - 20.10.2023

Supreme Court has allowed a woman with Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH) Syndrome to undergo surrogacy using a donor egg by staying the implementation of recent amendment to the Surrogacy Rules that prohibited use of donor eggs for gestational surrogacy of an intending couple.
