JH HC: Delay in Filing FIR in Rape Cases Not Fatal, if Proper Explanation Given - 09.10.2023

Jharkhand High Court has held that in case of a rape wherein dignity and prestige of family is at stake, the time is also taken in deciding whether to lodge the F.I.R. or not, and delay in lodging F.I.R. in such case can’t fatal to prosecution if there is cogent and trustworthy evidence.
