SC: S.162 CrPC Doesn’t Prevent Judge from Looking into the Papers of Chargesheet Suo Moto - 05.09.2023

Supreme Court has held that nothing in Section 162 CrPC prevents a Trial Judge from looking into papers of chargesheet suo moto and himself using the statement of a person recorded by police for the purpose of contradicting such person when he gives evidence as a prosecution witness.
