Cal. HC: Keeping Inmates in Separate Cell Due to Threat Perception is Not Solitary Confinement - 24.08.2023

Calcutta High Court has held that keeping multiple inmates in the same prison cell, away from the main population due to jail authorities’ perception of violence from other inmates, does not tantamount to solitary confinement, or a violation of their human rights.
