SC: Can’t Give Greater Credibility of Extra-Judicial Confessions Because Newspapers Reported it - 03.08.2023

Supreme Court while observing that newspaper report is only hearsay evidence and can only be treated as secondary evidence under Indian Evidence Act, has held that extrajudicial confession can’t be given greater credibility only because newspaper published it and is available to public at large.
